The de Havilland Canada DHC-5 Buffalo is a short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility transport turboprop aircraft developed from the earlier piston-powered DHC-4 Caribou. The aircraft has extraordinary STOL performance and is able to take off in distances much shorter than even most light aircraft can manage.

Pāpulō In Hawaiian. Awesomeness in the sky!

I currently am coming up to 40 hours of flight time and love this airframe! I’ve flown this aircraft around Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and now Nepal, Bhutan and now India. Still learning Pāpulō’s nuisances and habits and enjoying the process indeed. Still flying VFR, which is my gig for these flights, and still learning about the fuel system and switches. Fun to fly!The Kman (6 Jul 2025, 15:56)

Fantastic

Along with all the other X-Hanger products in my collection (12 in total) this one and the Caribou are my favorites. Just took my newest addition, the Buffalo on a hop from CFB Comox to CFB Cold Lake & had a wonderful flight. Wonderful job guys, you did a great job. FlybouyDOUG LAWRANCE (24 Dec 2023, 22:06)

Just made a trip in Alaska to deliver some emergency aid to victims of a snow-in. awesome ride! i landed at a small airstrip and the aircraft handled with no issues getting in and out. Toni Furgeson (23 Dec 2023, 11:18)
