C-130 Yoke disappearing when grabbed

Hi, I purchased and downloaded the C-130 at x-plane.org on 11/26/23. In both XP11 and XP12, in VR or with a mouse, when I grab the yoke it disappears! I tried disabling the keystroke for that just in case somehow it had anything to do with it, but no luck. Is this a known issue, or might I be doing something wrong?

I am not grabbing/clicking the center hub which I believe hides the yolk, I am grabbing the handle area.
I am on the beta versions of XP11 and XP12 through Steam.
I use an HP Reverb G2 for VR.
AMD 5800X / Ti4070 / 32GB of RAM (and I still can barely run XP 12 in VR with low settings and little scenery, so far).

Thanks for any help!

correct it uses the Y key or a click on the yoke to remove. Y to bring it back to display.

my guess is the issue is with the beta you are using. try a final version. betas are only used for testing purposes and reporting bugs to laminar.

Hi, I completely uninstalled XP11 including removing the leftover file structure and any add-ons (there wasn't much yet). I installed 11.55 fresh and added the C-130 for XP11. I still get the same behavior. Attached is the diagnostic file that xorganizer puts out, in case it helps. Also, here is a quick video of what happens in VR.

Thank you,
Ken

I can tell you it does the same thing out of VR, when I try to grab it with the mouse. I made a video but the mouse pointer doesn't show up so I didn't include it. I will try removing the plugins folder in the C-130 and let you know later today.

I get the same behavior after removing the plugins folder from the C-130. I cut and pasted it to the desktop so that I can put it back.

i havent had any reports and it works just fine on my system.

have you tried the c-130 in v12? tried the l-100-30 in both v11 and v12?

your using the steam version? using a beta? should only use final versions.

I'm using a fresh 11.55 install on Steam. The C-130 is the only addition I have made to it - no scenery, nothing. I had the same behaviour in XP12 but I haven't uninstalled and tried a fresh copy of that. Currently XP12 is not ready for VR in my opinion, frame rates are horrible as soon as you add any scenery at all, and I have very good hardware (see OP).

I haven't tried the I-100-30, I want to use the C-130, but if it will help troubleshoot I'll try it.

I also just thought of disabling any Steam add-ons, like OVR Toolkit which I use.

I'll try both of those things next.

Still no luck, I tried the I-100-30 and I disabled all Steam add-ons and startup apps.

I can try redownloading the files. It's a longshot, but at this point...

I re-downloaded and installed the C-130, still the same. The Cessna and Cirrus work fine.

redownloading files wont do any good.

ok you grab the yoke and it removes. then press Y to redisplay. or use Y to toggle display. it is working as it should. you dont grab the yoke to steer the airplane. that is a plugin that does not exist in the c-130. it is on some airplanes that have the plugin.

i forgot about that plugin until now. sorry for the long road to figure this one out. lol i pictured the yoke disapearing on it's own somehow. i need to take some time off. i am working way too hard.

Okay, no problem, but how do you control the plane in VR if you can't grab the yoke?

That's kind of disappointing TBH. Is there a way to add that plugin? I don't own a yoke or a joystick. I have an XBOX One controller that I can use, but to me the whole point of Virtual Reality is the reality part. Edit: I noticed that switches and stuff in the cockpit do work in VR with the VR controller grabbing them.

when flying and your using the vr yoke and have to adjust a radio or flip a switch you have to let go of the yoke. i think that is bad. if you have a hardware yoke you can keep your hands on the yoke while doing other things. the plugin is not available. but i will look again for a dataref for a vr yoke.
